![]() ![]() Since being granted freedom, the Yellowjackets, who were originally the Barracuda's soldiers, have since been granted independence to maintain order throughout Lominsan territory. The Seventh Umbral Calamity caused the formal Lominsan navy and the Knights of the Barracuda to completely incorporate into the Maelstrom, albeit initially maintaining their own command structure. The former, which makes up five of the Lominsan Armada's initial nine squadrons, is the Maelstrom's primary force. The Crimson Fleet and the privateers are two armadas under the control of Maelstrom Command. The civilization's capital, Nym, was destroyed by the whirlpool's fury and succeeding lesser waves, and the survivors fled to other places to seek their fortunes. This tactic bought the townspeople enough time to flee to the mountains with the blood of many soldiers and scholars. They called forth an even more powerful maelstrom to snare the fury of the sea as it crashed into the city in the form of towering waves. The Marines drew a magickal geometry on the water's surface while sailing ships entered what is now known as Galadion Bay, formerly known as the Bay of Nym. The Nymian Royal Marines assembled the Grand Company to rescue the lives of their countrymen in the days prior to the arrival of the enormous floods of the Sixth Umbral Calamity. On Vylbrand, a former Grand Company by the name of "Maelstrom" was founded on the eve of the Fifth Astral Era by the maritime civilisation of Nym. While averse to this encroachment on their independence, the city-state's pirates are willing to put aside their differences, lest the Garlean Empire take more than just their freedom. ![]() With the reestablishment of the Maelstrom, the Admiral has invoked ancient maritime law, by which she promoted herself to Chief Admiral in 1572, effectively expanding her authority to cover not only state and military dealings, but grant her the power to directly command all ships in Lominsan waters. The Maelstrom is an extension of the First Squadron, expanding its role as armada flagship, and granting it power to administer not only the remaining four squadrons, but the various merchant fleets that navigate the seas off Vylbrand. There some duties that I believe give seals too if you want to add that to the bunch and eventually your done with the hunt log but all the ways mentioned are good ways to get gc seals. At the heart of the Thalassocratic Navy lies the Crimson Fleet, composed of five independent squadrons, the First through the Fifth. I always wondered why others pass on even lower level stuff because for me it's not throw away gear but gc seals and even the ones that don't give huge amounts can add up especially if you spend your seals a lot on ventures and prisms of which I do. Oh yes, true and funny I see their title for post but reading it I just ended up pointing the way to how to get promoted. If you're looking towards promotion itself, then yes, you'll need to focus on the Grand Company Hunting Log for the most part. You'll generate them passively via other activities while levelling. If Seals are all you're after (and you don't wish to desynth dropped items), then chuck them in for free seals. Then there's Company Leves, FATE's, Log, Provisions and other means as well. If you stumble upon any green+ quality drops that you don't use, consider handing them in for seals.
